Nolanville is a small community in the Killeen–Temple–Fort Hood Metropolitan Statistical Area. Over the past ten years, Nolanville’s population has more than doubled, going from 2,150 at the 2000 census to the 2010 census figure of 5,051.
The history behind the community’s name has been disputed. Some say the name Nolanville was chosen since the community was on the banks of Nolan Creek, while other historians insist it took Belton’s discarded name in order to preserve it. Nolanville had been the old name for Belton before the latter became county seat in 1852.
